South San Francisco, CA– March 25, 2025- Bioforcetech (BFT), a Bay Area-based leader in waste transformation and carbon-negative solutions, is proud to announce it will be exhibiting at Milan Design
Week April 8-13, 2025, in collaboration with Garzanti Specialties, Rossana Orlandi, and Materially.
This marks the second year Bioforcetech and its brand OurCarbon participate in this premier global design event featuring the Salone del Mobile from April 8 to 13 at Rho Fiera Milano, and the Fuorisalone, which encompasses various design events and exhibitions throughout the city.
“We’re thrilled to return to Milan Design Week, where designers and manufacturers can experience OurCarbon’s design applications firsthand,” said Garrett Benisch, Director of Design Development at Bioforcetech Corporation. “Being showcased under the esteemed Rossana Orlandi name is a testament to OurCarbon’s impact in the design space and its potential to redefine sustainable materials. This is more than a technical showcase—it’s an opportunity to spark top-down interest from industry leaders and demonstrate how we’re transforming waste into a valuable global resource.”
Two Major Exhibitions
At the Rossana Orlandi Gallery exhibition, Bioforcetech will exhibit a striking collaboration with Model No., the creators of 3d printed and bio based modern furnishings. Model No. designed its Esker Chair and Ottoman in OurCarbon gloss black and the EOS 3-Point Lamp in OurCarbon ‘striated’ gloss. Both of these creations will be showcased on a bed of OurCarbon granules, emphasizing the material’s versatility and impact in sustainable design. This showcase highlights the potential of OurCarbon in premium, sustainable interiors, reinforcing how innovative material applications can drive the design industry toward a fully circular future.
“At Model No., we’re not just interested in beautiful concepts—we’re committed to making exceptional design a reality, at scale, and without compromise. Every piece we 3D print is bio based, manufactured responsibly, yet with scale in mind. Being featured at Rossana Orlandi‘s gallery pays testament to our value that sustainability, production, and beauty do not need to be at odds with each other.” Michael Cao, CEO Model No.

Through in-depth panels, the exhibition aims to clarify, debunk myths, and bring designers and professionals from the manufacturing sectors closer to the decisions that today’s material producers are required to face,” said Chiara Rodriquez, President and CEO of Materially.
Expanding OurCarbon’s Global Reach
With the support of Garzanti Specialties, Bioforcetech is pioneering OurCarbon’s adoption in Europe, further establishing its role in the sustainable materials market. The company anticipates securing REACH certification this year, a critical milestone that will allow expanded importation of OurCarbon into the EU.
As the design and materials industry shifts toward circular economy solutions, Milan Design Week offers the ideal platform to showcase OurCarbon’s evolution—from a tastemaker in innovation to a globally scalable material.
About Bioforcetech
Bioforcetech is a U.S.-based innovator in biosolids management, specializing in transforming waste into carbon-negative solutions with a wide range of applications. The company uses biological drying and advanced patented pyrolysis technology to convert biosolids into OurCarbon, a sustainable biochar used in concrete mixes, inks, and other materials. Their process also addresses pressing environmental concerns, such as the reduction of PFAS, or “forever chemicals,” to undetectable levels. About OurCarbon
Divert Waste. Fix Carbon. Change Industry.
OurCarbon® is a sustainable, fixed-carbon material created from organic waste that would otherwise contribute to environmental harm. Made through Bioforcetech’s patented pyrolysis technology, OurCarbon diverts waste from landfills, transforms it at net-zero energy, and applies it in beneficial ways—preventing greenhouse gas emissions and reducing reliance on fossil fuel-based materials. OurCarbon is used to achieve low carbon structural concrete and replace petroleum-based black pigments in screen printing, polymers, paints, fabric dyes, and more. By repurposing waste into valuable materials, OurCarbon is pioneering a circular, climate-positive approach to sustainability.
